Debt-Free-ASAP: August and September

August and September 2012

Payments:

Credit card payment £641
Loan Payment £618

Total put towards debts = £1259.

Hey there people. I thought I’d update you on my Debt-Free ASAP progress. I have had a really good couple of months.

The first thing to report is that I PAID OFF MY FINAL CREDIT CARD!! No more credit card debt for me J

This has freed up £150 per month for me to put towards household expenses and also towards paying off my debts.

We have also moved house and my petrol bill has gone from over £200 per month to just £40 per month.

I have also made a little money from sponsored posts on the blog and from my store this month. Everything seems to be looking up J

I am not sure what the next step is on my financial journey as yet. I would like to put more money towards paying of my loan next. It will all depend on MHI’s job. At the moment he is working full time and there’s a chance that could become a permanent post. If that happens then I will go all guns blazing after my loans! If not, then I will need to contribute more to household expenses. Keep your fingers crossed for me lovelies!

I am not sure what my budgeted payments will be in the coming months because of this. I do know that this month is MOT month for my car, so not the month to be making too many financial plans. At least not until I know what the damages from that will be.

But I am really optimistic for the future and my getting out of debt. You can read all about my debt free journey so far on my money page. Also, why not check out my tips page for ways to save money and manage meals on a budget.

Have a great day people!!

Well done you - it almost becomes fun, doesn't it, especially when you can actually measure the progress! Good luck to all of you in the coming months. Hope the MOT is just that - with no additional costs involved!

Killing the credit cards makes such a difference doesn't it? I've got rid of my worst one and reduced the others... it's a long slog but a good feeling! Well done on getting rid of all of yours

CONGRATS!!!

Paying off debt, and not taking on any new debt is very important. It makes you much more flexible in a time when the economy is in turmoil.

How’s the MHI’s job? It’s really hard to decide when you are holding on to something, right? Anyway, your blog seems really helpful, especially when it comes to generating extra money that can help you reduce your balance dues. You get some extra cash flowing by simply doing what you love. :] -->Jaden Allred
